During Auckland Pride, drag talent was on showcase everywhere — stages packed, performers booked out, the energy electric.

But when a friend of our founder went looking to hire a performer for a corporate event, everyone he knew was already taken. Finding alternatives meant trawling social media, word of mouth, and dead ends.

It became clear Aotearoa was missing something obvious: a single place to discover the full breadth of drag talent the country has to offer. Local Drag was built to fill that gap.

Drag is art. It's entertainment. It's culture. But for too many performers in Aotearoa it's still treated like a side hustle — something squeezed in between day jobs and late nights.

We think it deserves better. Local Drag exists to help performers turn their craft into a career: a professional profile that works around the clock, visibility beyond your usual crowd, and a direct line to people ready to book.
